Quebec’s Bill 25 requires organizations to better protect the personal information they hold. Your customers’ recorded calls, text messages and faxes are part of it. Our platform is designed to help you show that you keep control of it.
An audit history of permissions and access
We keep an audit history of permission changes and of access to your customers’ information:
- who changed a user’s permissions, when, and what changed;
- who accessed call recordings, SMS and faxes, and when.
Information covered
- Call recordings and their transcripts.
- Text messages (SMS and MMS).
- Faxes, sent and received on our online fax platform.
Why it matters
Knowing exactly who accessed what, and who changed permissions, lets you respond to a customer’s access request, investigate a privacy incident, and show that your access controls are applied.
Data portability
Bill 25 gives individuals a right to data portability: they may ask that their computerized personal information be provided to them, or to another organization, in a structured and commonly used technological format. Your customers may therefore come to you to obtain, for example, their call recordings, text messages or faxes.
If you ask for our help to respond to a data portability request from one of your customers, we may bill you for the time required to complete it.
